FIRE WALL
To be considered approved from a fire insurance rating standpoint, the fire wall must be of masonry construction a minimum of 8-inches in thickness (12-inches in thickness is recommended) and must extend without openings from the foundation through all floors and roof to a point atleast 6-inches above the roof on either side of the wall (18-inch minimum height is recommended) and must extend from front to rear sufficiently to prevent any wrap-around of either end of the wall by either building. Structural members of the buildings can not be continuous through the wall. Where structural members project into hollow masonry material the full thickness of the wall and 6-inches or more above, between and below such members. The wall shall have sufficient structural stability under fire conditions to allow collapse of construction on either side without collapse of the wall.
